Last week, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry summoned the head of the European Union Mission in Sudan, Catherine Ashton, and conveyed Sudan protest over the statement in which she expressed her concern over Kenya receiving to the President of the Republic. Sudan was not aiming to move legally because Sudan as a non -ICC member has no international legal obligation toward the ICC decisions. With regard to the view that Sudan is concerned with the ICC decision because the case was referred to the ICC by the Security Council, the international law does not allow striping the immunity of the heads of state and government based on Rome State of the ICC

President Al Bashir and his Eritrean counterpart Isaias Afewerki besides the Qatari representative will launch soon the Highway linking Sudan with Eritrea covering a length of 26 kilometers financed by the Qatari governments with the cost of US$12 million.It is to be noted that the high preparatory committee for Al Bashir’s visit to Kassala state held a meeting under the chairmanship of the Deputy Governor, Ali Awad Mohammed Musa who stated that the visit of the President to the State is mainly to open this road

The Foreign Minister, Ali Ahmed Karti, has praised the efforts of Japan in boosting the stability, peace and development in Sudan as well as the initiative of Japan as the first country to fulfill the commitment that it has declared at Oslo conference for support to peace in Sudan. He also lauded Japan's technical and financial aid to the recent general elections in the country as its declaration to expend financial support to the coming referendum in south Sudan

National Congress Party (NCP) warned against the foreign attempts to secede southern Sudan from the north through hindering the intensive internal efforts to overcome the disputes over the referendum, borders demarcation, and oil revenues. NCP Organizations’ Secretary, Dr. Qutbi Al-Mahdi stated that there are foreign international organization utilizing some tools to transform the issue of referendum to international concern in an attempt to internationalize it and promote the secession option

The Minister of Finance, Ali Mahmoud, said that Sudan will go ahead implementing its strategy for combating poverty, building capacities and community building in a manner that leads to enhancement of the economic performance and a sound Sudan economically and socially. At a joint press conference he held Wednesday with the visiting Vice - President of the World Bank for Africa Region, Mrs. Obiageli Katryn Ezekwesili, the Minister of Finance said that the talks between them tackled the issues of foreign debt and the technical conditions required from Sudan so as receive technical assistance for reducing the foreign indebtedness.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister, Dr Luka Piong, said that the national unity government and the Government of the South Sudan (GoSS) are committed to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and to remove all obstacles. During an inspection visit to Al-Salam villages in Jebel Aulia, Wednesday Dr. Piong said that the relation between the south and the north will continue to be firm regardless of the outcome of the referendum
